Low self esteem is the product of too many stressors that a person can’t handle. We all have stressors in life, but we have different outlooks on them. For instance, a cockroach crawling on one’s leg may spur the urge to kick it off and step on it while another will just kick it off and cry. Stressors make our bodies go into stress mode – what’s called the “fight or flight response” – which gives us a boost of adrenaline, allowing us to react faster, work harder, and whatnot.
